VMware vVols enables data replication, snapshots, and encryption to be
controlled at the VMDK level instead of the LUN level. These data services are performed on
a per VM (application level) basis from the storage array.

To view storage container details:
Steps

Select the storage system.

Select
Storage > vVol Dashboard.

Click
Storage Containers to display the
Storage Containers list view.

Select the storage container and click
.
The following properties display:
- Name—The
name of the storage container
- Description—The description of the storage
container
- Repliaction
Groups—The number of replication groups
- Subscribed Limit
(GB)—The total combined limit of all storage resources
within the storage container
- Subscribed Used
(GB)—The current subscribed usage on the storage
container of all the storage resources within the storage container
- Subscribed Free (GB)—The
total free subscribed capacity - based on the used capacity and the
limit of all the storage resources in the storage container
- Storage
Resources—The total number of storage resources within
the storage container
- Storage Container Type—The
type of storage container, for example, SCSI or NVMe/TCP
